Many of our advanced tools and techniques offer less invasive and more comfortable procedures, minimising discomfort, reducing recovery time, and maximising patient satisfaction.

I Tero

The iTero scanner is a digital scanning device that replaces the need for traditional dental impressions. We can create highly accurate digital impressions of your teeth and gums in a matter of minutes. This means no more messy and uncomfortable traditional impressions!

Using the iTero scanner, we can capture detailed 3D images of your oral structures, allowing us to better diagnose and plan your treatment with precision. The scanner provides a comprehensive view of your teeth, gums, and bite, enabling us to design personalised treatment solutions tailored to your specific needs.

By embracing the iTero scanner, we can streamline your dental visits, reduce treatment times, and improve the overall quality of care we provide. Whether you require restorative dentistry, orthodontic treatments, or any other dental procedures, our use of the iTero scanner ensures a smoother and more precise experience.

We are extremely pleased to be able to offer this outstanding technology to our patients, and are very proud that we were the first practice in the area to do this.

Cerec stands for Ceramic reconstruction. A computer-assisted imaging device scans the prepared tooth and then mills a contoured, shaded and glazed porcelain restoration which is then bonded to the remaining tooth structure to give an exact replica of your original tooth. The technology is computer based through a CAD/CAM imaging device and the whole tooth is restored in one visit – no impression, no temporary restoration and no second appointment required, perfect for the busy lifestyle so many of us live.

These restorations are extremely accurate in their fit, are true to nature, extremely durable and often strengthen the remaining tooth structure. The Cerec system allows us to construct full coverage crowns, partial crowns, inlays, onlays or veneers conventional and adhesive bridges in one single visit. It also allows the dentist to have fine control over the final finish which is carried out skilfully and artistically by hand to give outstanding results.

The Wand

Most patients are prevented from seeking dental treatment through fear of pain, and most of those will cite the injection as a major cause of that fear. Here at Kew Dental Care, we have The Wand, a virtually painless way of delivering local anaesthetic to numb your teeth. Some say it is truly magical!

The Wand is essentially a computer-controlled dental injection. The flow rate of the local anaesthetic is controlled by a computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable.

Audio Visual

'A picture is worth a thousand words' as the saying goes and we firmly believe that intra-oral cameras are worth even more!

People seldom have a clear idea of the actual status of their dental health. Even with lights and mirrors, it's tough to see anything but the front of your own teeth, or segments of the shadowed back and side areas. But intraoral cameras have changed all that. Now you can sit comfortably back in the chair while the dentist guides a handy, pen-sized camera into your mouth. Covered with a disposable plastic sheath for contamination prevention, it takes a video of the inside of your mouth and transmits the images to a computer that enlarges the colour images and sends them to a TV screen. Almost instantaneously, both you and your dentist are able to view together every last detail of your oral health.

It's not necessarily pleasant to come face to face with your own dental condition. But it's important to do so as the camera may reveal the early stages of potentially serious problems with your teeth and gums, helping you make an informed decision about your treatment options.

Our ongoing investment in the practice means that our patients enjoy the best technology and materials currently available, many of which can only be found at Kew Dental Care in the Kew and Richmond area.

Quotation Mark

I have had two separate CEREC treatments from David Callaghan at Kew Dental Care and have been delighted with the results both times. The whole treatment was completed with one appointment of (less than) two hours with no need for any additional preparation or follow up visits which suited my schedule perfectly. The aesthetics of the treatment are also extremely pleasing — instead of dark silver amalgam filings I now have porcelain restorations that can’t be distinguished from the rest of the tooth.
