David Callaghan BDS

David Callaghan BDS (Lond )1988 MSc (Rest Cos Dent).

David is our principal dentist and team leader. He qualified from Guy's Hospital, London in 1988. He is dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has continually updated his knowledge and skills and aims to provide excellence in all aspects of his dental care using the very latest techniques and materials in a relaxing, comfortable environment. David holds a Masters degree in Advanced Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry. Away from the surgery, he enjoys spending time with his family and is a keen runner and triathlete having completed marathons, triathlons and an Ironman.

Naseema Callaghan BDS

Naseema Callaghan BDS (Lond) 1988

Naseema also qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1988. She is equally committed to ensuring you receive the dental care you deserve. Her particular interests lie in periodontal (gum) care and tooth whitening and she regularly attends courses in these fields. She also oversees the practice and ensures it runs smoothly so that your visit is as stress-free as possible. Away from the practice, she is kept equally busy raising their daughters, and, as long-term local residents, David and Naseema engage in community activities on behalf of the practice.

Karim Verjee BDS

Karim Verjee BDS (Bristol) 1990 MSc (Implants) DipSed.

Karim qualified in 1990 from the University of Bristol, achieved his Diploma in Conscious Sedation at Guy’s Hospital in 1998 and his Masters in Implant Dentistry in 2003 also from Guy’s. He has considerable experience in oral surgery, conscious sedation and implantology and is registered with the Association of Dental Implantology. His training in the field of conscious sedation allows him to treat even the most nervous patients in a safe, controlled environment. Karim's excellent clinical skills and calm, reassuring manner are an asset to our practice. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, tennis and spending time with his family.

Samir Farmahan BDS

Samir Farmahan BDS (Hons), MFDS RCS Ed, MClinDent (Ortho), MOrth RCS Ed

Samir completed his degree in Dentistry (BDS) from the Royal London Dental Hospital passing with distinction. He has held a number of hospital posts including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric and Community Dentistry. He passed the Dental Faculty membership examinations (MFDS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh to enter specialist training in Orthodontics that he undertook at the John Radcliffe, part of Oxford University Hospitals and at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London.

As a Specialist Registrar, he obtained a Master’s in Orthodontics (MClinDent) and Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. During his training, he presented his research at both national and international conferences and was awarded the Houston Postgraduate Research Scholar award for his master’s thesis.

He undertakes the full spectrum of orthodontic treatments for children and adults including conventional fixed braces, aesthetic braces, Invisalign, functional appliances and lingual (hidden) braces.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Samir works with David and Karim to provide the most conservative, yet aesthetic treatment for complex cases such as missing teeth, crowded teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly.
Samir accepts private referrals from dentists in South-West London and the Richmond area for orthodontic treatment.

Away from the practice, he is kept busy with his young family. When he can, he enjoys cycling, marathon running, football, cricket and squash.

Alexandra Jorgensen Dip DHT

Alexandra Jorgensen Dip DHT.

We are very fortunate in having Ali is our Dental Therapist. She qualified with Distinction and has been with us since May 2007. Ali is here on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  When not in Kew, she is a tutor at King’s College Dental Institute supervising student hygienists and therapists.  She also works with the Sedation and Special Care team at Guy’s Hospital treating patients who have had cancer of the head and neck.

Our clinicians are supported by our nurses Candice and Jana and reception is efficiently run by Michelle.

Candice Hutchison

Candice Hutchison

Candice is our head nurse and has been with us since 2011. Her quiet, steady persona is a calming influence on our patients. She has extensive experience in orthodontic nursing.

Away from the practice, she enjoys live music and all things feline.

Jana Benkova

Jana joined us in 2016. She is a dynamo in the surgery and is often spotted whizzing around the practice.

Her interests include horseriding and both reading and watching crime fiction. She enjoys listening to music and has a particular fondness for Lenny Kravitz!

Michelle McVay

Michelle runs the front desk like a well-oiled machine. Her enthusiasm and can-do attitude inspire the whole team.

She hails from Texas y'all and enjoys learning about different cultures this side of the Atlantic.
